“You can still make cash withdrawals using your physical card at ATMs, in branch, stores that accept cash out and Bank@Post,” Westpac told customers on Tuesday. “Alternatively, you can use your digital card to perform transactions or send and receive money in real time using online banking.”

Cash could be making a revival, with surprising new data showing a spike in withdrawals at ATMs across the country.

Westpac will no longer offer customers cardless ATM cash withdrawals, sparking outrage amongst some customers.

Westpac has announced an end to its Cardless Cash withdrawals which allow customers to take out cash without a physical card and instead receive a code to enter at an ATM.
