Is the Dell Wyse 5070 Extended still attractive in late 2023?
They're going for about $60-70 on ebay now. If you need more power for anything I'd echo everyone else also say look into an N100 mini PC. They start at ~$150 and just go up from there, so they're not the cheapest option, but they seem to be the go-to choice for anything from media servers to emulation PCs right now. 2.

hometechgeek. •. Just wanted to share a mount I created and printed for my Dell Wyse 5070, to support a cheap 2.5GbE adaptor. The adaptor cost about £15, it works natively in Ubuntu 22.04, but needed a back plate adaptor to make it fit the open port on the back. Well worth the upgrade!

Mar 25, 2021 · The Wyse 5070 is positioned as a "thin client", used mainly to remote control into virtual desktops hosted elsewhere. For that reason it's very tiny, uses very little power, and it doesn't even have (or need) a fan. It is silent. The most common config seems to include 4GB of RAM (populating 1 of 2 slots) and a 16GB embedded eMMC.

Feb 5, 2024 · I flashed the latest BIOS from the Dell website, version 1.27.0. LOL! Just checked and now 1.28.0 is available as of 06 Feb 2024. I will try to test the CPU speed when I find a way to connect non-Dell PSU. I am afraid this option only disables the warning, not the slowdown.
