Mar 9, 2018 · A simple solution is an Easton Axis 300 with a 50 grain insert and a 125 grain head or leave the insert in at 75 grains and use a 100 grain head. The weight will be between 450 and 500 grains depending on shaft length and vanes. Heavier arrows are always better for a few reasons so better to err on the side of caution.

Jan 27, 2024 · 1st elk I killed (in pic) was with a Victory VForce, brass insert and a 125gr Slick Trick (still a plenty fine option, Slick Trick QC may not be as strong as it once was) More expense and a little more favorable for penetration, arrow flight, etc: 5mm arrow like a RIP TKO or Easton Axis (special insert/outsert hardware required)

I can carry the HS specialties Whose your daddy mouth piece and buggle into one of the other models tube and make a good scream. Then I have two buggles without carrying two bugles.

Aug 27, 2013 · I agree with the other post, there are many areas in Colorado where there are a lot of elk, but a 300" bull is few and far between. I'm of the viewpoint that any elk with a bow is a trophy. A 300" bull will require some scouting to find a area that has those types of bulls.

A arrow weighing 500gr to 600gr and a good sharp 2 blade broadhead will go through a shoulder blade and also brake neck or back bone and it will also do quite well on a prefect double lung shot.
