Dec 5, 2006 · The 6SN7GT tube type was formally registered in 1941 by RCA and Sylvania. The 6SN7GT is an octal base medium-mu (20) [i.e. medium amplification] double-triode tube. It runs on a heater current of 0.6A (@ 6.3V). The 6SN7GT type is essentially two 6J5-type single-triodes within a single envelope.

May 14, 2005 · There is a certain forcefulness to the presentation that is quite attention-grabbing. Vocals are extremely clear with this tube. The mids are less sweet and a wee bit thinner than both the KR and 1952. There is a slight dry-ness to the sound overall. Clarity clarity clarity, yet less low level detail than the KR.

Dec 28, 2005 · RCA Red Base 6sn7 = 5692. "RCA brand-red base. The 5692 is a commercial "premium" version of the type 6SN7 tube. This tube was first developed and produced by RCA. They were part of the RCA "Premium Red" line which had red colored bases. Any 5692 with a red base will have been made by RCA regardless of the actual branding on the tube.

May 1, 2024 · The treble on the Linlai E-6SN7 has an unpleasantly sharp edge to my ears, but I'm very treble sensitive so YMMV. It might be amp dependant, not sure. On my unit it was the opposite, Linlai sounded softer up top (easier on the ear) while Psvane were sharper/more energetic in the treble region. Last edited: May 2, 2024.

Regardless of the volume knob position the music/humming is allways at the same volume level. I've tested different pairs 6SN7 tubes but the result was always the same. Any ideas?
