In a hack-and-slash dungeon crawl where everyone gets to read through the Monster Manual at will, Divination is one of the weaker schools.

Jun 29, 2024 · Some are recognizably similar to the ones above. Syntactic magic is verb-noun based like Ars Magica. Realm magic is like Spheres or Arcana. Ritual path magic is a very different system for magic that always requires rituals and leans on occult correspondences for bonuses, but the "path" part was, again, a skill in a particular kind of magic.

It seems to play around with the M ythras rules a whole lot, adding some sort of pseudo class systems and a spell list. What interests me the most, though, is the mention of treasures and magic items.

Each School of Magic has 30 spells, and there is a group of 10 Universal Spells that anybody may learn (250 total -- each is scalable in some fashion). So those with an Arcanist Kit may learn any of those 40 spells by purchasing ranks in them (just like skills).

May 29, 2010 · This magic item is from MIC 72. Is this really as potent as it seems? For 1500 gp and 5 Ranks in K: Arcana, you can never need the Identify spell again? There's nothing that says it must be used by the Artificer class, even though it's other ability is related to that class.

Nov 19, 2010 · I absolutely adore MRQII. It's got all the style and attitude of Chaosium's RQII, with the breadth and customisation of RQIII. Lots of the stuff about older editions I'd gotten tired of (spirit/battle magic, Strike Ranks, etc) were totally altered for the better in MRQII. So, in sum, MRQII is currently my favorite edition of the game.

Mar 1, 2020 · My most recent purchases for Sims 4 were Realm of Magic and Go To Work. Got one sim that's a scientist-mage. Sounds goofy, but there's a weird synergy in that she's done work with the Practical Magic set--the first two spells in that path are the Clean and Repair spells, which both work just fine at the lab. Chem set gets filthy, magic it clean.
